Terms of use

The rules for shoppers and stores on Ihwo.

Last updated 4 November 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Ihwo Technologies Ltd ("Ihwo", "we", "us"). They apply when you use the Ihwo mobile app or website to shop, sell or manage a store. By creating an account, you accept these terms and our Privacy policy.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to use Ihwo.
  • Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
  • Keep your password and delivery PINs private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Every account has a Personal side for shopping and a Store side for selling. Both share the same login and wallet.

3. Orders and escrow

When you pay for an order, Ihwo holds the payment in escrow. The store can see the order is paid but cannot withdraw the money yet.

Share your delivery PIN only when the order is in your hands. When the store enters your PIN, you confirm the order arrived as described and the payment is released to the store. A confirmed delivery cannot be undone through Ihwo.

Checkout shows the item price and any service, tax or delivery fee before you pay.

4. Refund claims

If something is wrong with an order, raise a refund claim from the order page before you confirm delivery. The store can approve the claim or decline it with a reason. Our Refund policy explains the full process.

5. Rules for stores

  • Submit true business details and documents for verification. You cannot sell until our team approves your store.
  • List only products and services you can deliver, at the price shown, and keep stock status accurate.
  • Ship orders promptly and handle refund claims fairly and on time.
  • You are responsible for the people you invite to your store team and the access you give them.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes, licences and compliance with Nigerian law.

6. What you may not do

  • Sell illegal, counterfeit, stolen or dangerous goods, or anything restricted by Nigerian law.
  • Ask a buyer to pay outside Ihwo, or for their delivery PIN before they receive the order.
  • Post false reviews, misleading prices or content you don't have the right to use.
  • Interfere with the app, other accounts or our systems.

7. Wallet and payouts

Funds released from escrow land in your Ihwo wallet. Card and bank payments are handled by licensed payment partners. We may delay or hold a payout while we investigate suspected fraud, a dispute or a breach of these terms.

8. Share and earn

Rewards for recommending brands follow the rules shown in the app when you take part. We may change or end a rewards programme, and we may cancel rewards earned through abuse.

9. Suspending or closing accounts

You can close your account at any time from the app, after any open orders and claims are settled. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk.

10. Our responsibility

Stores, not Ihwo, sell the products and services listed on Ihwo. We provide the platform, escrow and claims process. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to the fees we received for the order in question. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.

11. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If we change them, we'll show the new date at the top of this page and tell you in the app before major changes take effect.
